The Dushanbe City Court sentenced Nasim Qurbonov, a resident of Dushanbe, to death

The Dushanbe City Court sentenced Nasim Qurbonov, a resident of Dushanbe, to death. On the evening May 21, 1999 Nasim Qurbonov and his accomplices, Tursunmurod Rahimov and Muhtaram Ashurova, broke into the house of Hikmatullo Shomurodov and murdered Hikmatullo Shomurodov and his wife. They stole a gold chain and 150,000 Tajik roubles and fled from the scene of the crime. The board of the Dushanbe court found them guilty under a number of articles of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan, including murder, the illegal possession and use of firearms and burglary. Qurbonov was sentenced to death, Rahimov, 24, to imprisonment, and Ashurova, 20, to imprisonment with the confiscation of their property.
