The European Parliament's Citizens' Rights Committee called for people not to be extradited to countries where they could face the death penalty for their crimes. The call was made in a non-legislative resolution drawn up in response to the Council's request to the Commission after the September 11 attacks to look at the relationship between internal security and international protection obligations.
