The former chief of Yugoslavia's feared secret police.Markovic and other suspects were arrested in connection with a 1999 attempt to kill the former opposition leader Vuk Draskovic. The accused face a first-degree murder charge punishable by at least 10 years in jail and a possible death sentence, Yugoslavia's Justice Minister, Vladan Batic, said.
