“The future is democracy,” said Seif el-Islam el Gheddafi

"The future is democracy,” said Seif el-Islam el Gheddafi, 32 year old son of the Libyan dictator, adding that, “In our region, the Middle East, we can’t remain behind as everyone is going towards democracy”. 
The young Gheddafi spoke of political evolution in Libya, not of revolution, thus remaining within the scope of his father’s projects: “My father has been advocating the idea of a direct democracy for almost 26 years, and it is logical to continue in that direction”.
From the Arabic satellite TV station Al Jazeera, he appealed to the rulers of the Middle East stating: “You have to bring democracy to your countries”; also: “Either the Arabs will change or change will be imposed from outside”. Seif also intervened in the case of the Bulgarian medics sentenced to death in Libya for having voluntarily infected children with HIV by contributing to negotiations with the country on whether to free the medics.
