The General Secretariat for Equality asked that Greece officially intervene in the case of a Nigerian woman sentenced to death by stoning on charges of adultery by a Muslim sharia court in Nigeria.
In a letter to the Greek foreign ministry, the equality secretariat said Amina Lawal Kurami was sentenced because she became pregnant and gave birth to a child out of wedlock.
