The head of a Chinese kindergarten was sentenced to death for mixing rat poison in salt at a rival school and making 70 children seriously sick, Xinhua news agency said. Former doctor Huang Hu was arrested a few days after the November 25 poisoning at the school on the outskirts of Wuchuan in the southern province of Guangdong. Two teachers also fell sick. Xinhua did not say if Huang would appeal the verdict, which was handed down by the Zhanjiang Intermediate People's Court, or if a date had been set for his execution.
