The Higher State Security Court in Damascus, Syria, sentenced a group Kurdish detainees to several years in prison and sentenced to death a detainee charged with affiliation to the banned "Muslim Brotherhood" group in Syria. Lawyer Anwar al-Bunni told "Al-Hayat" that the court sentenced to death Mahmud al-Nabahan, who had been in custody for a year following his return from abroad, after indicting him of the charge of affiliation to the Muslim Brotherhood but then reduced the sentence to 12 years in prison. The court sentenced the Kurds Farhat Ali from the Kurdish Unity Party and Ibrahim al-Na'san from the Yakiti Party to five years in prison on charge of affiliation to a "secret society" and "attempting to seize part of Syrian territories and annexing it to a foreign party".
