the Kitwe High Court, in Zambia, sentenced Nickson Kaumba, 23, of Mulenga Township to death for murdering a man over a cell phone. Justice Chali found him guilty of murdering Tana Chisopo on August 8, 2010. The victim was accompanied by two of his sisters, Linda Chisopo and Mary Kabamba. A group started following them and later caught up with one of his sisters whom they twisted her arm in order to grab a mobile phone. A struggle ensued between the victim and Kaumba, who later got an object from his pocket and stabbed Mr Chisopo in the stomach, forcing the intestines out. Ms Chisopo told the court that her brother fell to the ground, bleeding heavily from the wounds he had sustained. She rushed him to Kitwe Central Hospital (KCH) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
