The Korean Society in China (KSIC), which represents some 200,000 nationals residing in China, insisted in a statement that officials at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, as well as local legation representatives, are responsible for the diplomatic gaffe regarding the execution of a convicted Korean drug trafficker.
At an emergency executive meeting, the organization called for fundamental measures such as policy reform, replenishment of personnel lineup and budget, and diplomatic reinforcement, instead of simply reprimanding officers in charge.
