The Labor Party remained opposed to the death penalty in Australia but would not protest if it was imposed on former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, Australia's Opposition Leader Mark Latham said. Mr Latham said if Saddam was found guilty, his penalty was a matter for the Iraqis. "I've said that it's a matter for Iraq," Mr Latham told reporters.
