The last victim of the Taliban was Abdullah, 28, from Kandahar, a poet who became a soldier and a father of three. He was one of the brave group of Afghans working with American special forces to locate Taliban and al-Qaeda members and guide bombs and cruise missiles to their hideouts.

Abdullah had been caught by Taliban speaking on his satellite phone outside an Arab house in Kandahar.
