The Minister of state for foreign affairs, Dubem Onyia, said: "Nobody will ever be stoned as a result of sharia law. Nobody. The federal government will not stand by to let any citizen of this country be dehumanised," adding that Amina Lawal, whose death sentence prompted the international outcry which threatened to wreck Nigeria's hosting of Miss World, was safe.
