The People's Court in Ba Ria Vung Tau sentenced to death Pham Van Dzung, found guilty of trading and possessing a total of 33.3 kilograms of opium and 294.9 grams of heroin between 1995 and 2001. The court also gave Tran Thi Phuong, Dzung's wife, a life sentence and terms of seven to 20 years in jail for his accomplices.
