The prosecutor, judge and defense attorneys in a 1999 murder trial made a series of mistakes that led to a wrongful death sentence, the Ohio Supreme Court ruled Wednesday in voting to reverse the sentence. The court ruled 6-1 to overturn the death sentence of Shawn Williams and send the case back to the trial court for resentencing. Williams was convicted in 1999 for the rape and strangling death of his 17-year-old girlfriend Catrise Gregory in 1995. The court said it did not question Williams' guilt but rather the way evidence was presented as the jury decided whether to sentence Williams to death.
