The Queensland branch of the One Nation party will call for a referendum on capital punishment if it wins the February 17, 2001 elections. According to a February 2001 One Nation policy paper, the referendum would seek mandatory capital punishment for makers and traffickers of hard drugs, serial killers and child killers.
