The Supreme Council of Shari'ah in Nigeria said the council's immediate target is to work for the implementation of shari'ah legal system in Kwara and Oyo States
The Supreme Council of Shari'ah in Nigeria said the council's immediate target is to work for the implementation of shari'ah legal system in Kwara and Oyo States.
According to council's president, Dr. Dati Ahmed, agitation for the Islamic legal law had been high in the two states, and that all that is needed is for the council to facilitate the execution. He said as an immediate step, the council will soon establish offices in Ilorin and Ibadan, which are the capitals of the targeted states.
Dr Ahmed also declared that apart from the states already practicing the shari'ah legal system, the Islamic law will also spread to all states nationwide soon.
