the Supreme Court of India suspended the death sentence of Mohammed Shoaib Ghansar, awarded in the 1993 Mumbai serial terror bombings. A bench of Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and Justices R.V. Raveendran and Markandey Katju stayed Ghansar's death sentence on a petition by him challenging the ruling given by a Mumbai anti-terror court for parking a scooter filled with Research Developed Explosive (RDX) opposite the Mumbai stock exchange and triggering a blast that killed 17 people and maimed 57 others.
