The Thanyaburi Provincial Court in Pathum Thani sentenced to death four people for producing and trafficking methamphetamine. "Although the four convicts had confessed to their crime, they did so after being confronted with evidence of their heinous acts that are considered a menace to society," presiding judge Chatchai Saichok said in refusing clemency. The convicts, all from Thailand, were named as That Kampan, Thaweechai Phromphao, Suthai Phanphop and Yupha Chaiwong. The four had been arrested in 2000 with over 202 million methamphetamine tablets and 20 kilograms of raw materials for illegal drug production.
