The Tokyo District Court sentenced Yoshio Iwamoto, a 56-year-old man to death for committing two murder-robberies in 1996 and 1999 in Tokyo. He immediately appealed the ruling to the Tokyo High Court.
Presiding Judge Kiyoshi Kimura said that the cases were so cruel and that there would be little room for his rehabilitation.
