The Toyama District Court, Japan, sentenced Minoru Ito to death for murdering a gang boss and his wife in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, in July 2000. Presiding Judge Masakatsu Kamisawa said Ito, 51, shot gang boss Shuhei Yabunaka, 56, and his wife to death at their home in collaboration with his partner, Sakae Warashina, 34, who was given an 18-year prison term.
