The U.S. Supreme Court has thrown out the death sentence for Willie Mack Moddon.The Supreme Court, in response to claims that Moddon is mentally retarded, overturned his death sentence and remanded the case to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Moddon, 54, was convicted and sentenced to die for the July 29, 1984, stabbing death of Deborah "Debbie" Davenport during a robbery.
