The World Organisation Against Torture reported that four protesters defending a grave that was about to be defaced by the Revolutionary Committee were arrested and put through undue torture, including extrajudicial execution. The arrests of Mr. Hussein Seif Salem Aljadik, his brother Mr. Abdelwahhab Seif Salem Aljadik, Dr. Belgasim Mohamed Massaud Izbeida and his brother Mr. Rajab Mohamed Massaud Izbeida had taken place on September 7, 2002. According to reports, on September 13 it was revealed that Mr. Hussein had died in prison and that his brother Mr. Abdelwahhab, had been released, but in critical condition. The fates and conditions of Mr. Rajab Mohamed Massaud and Dr. Belgasim Mohamed Massaud Izbeida remained unknown.
