three brothers from Jabalya suspected of collaborating with Israel - ‘Atef, 45, Mohammed, 28, and Mahmoud ‘Ateya Abu ‘Aysha, 26 – were executed by Hamas security officers in Gaza after escaping the city’s jail. They sustained bullet wounds to the head, back, and stomach. ‘Atef e Mohammed’s bodies were located at the al-Shifa' Hospital in the Gaza city, Mahmoud’s body was at the Kamal 'Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahiya. Before being arrested, one of them attempted to swallow a mobile telephone sim card, on which it is believed his conversations with Israeli security functionaries were recorded. A fourth member of the same family was executed some days before for attempting to flee a bombed jail in Gaza. He was imprisoned for collaboration with Israel and for complicity in the murder in northern Gaza of Amar Karmut, ex leader of the Salah al-Din brigade, the military wing of the People’s Resistance Committee.
