Three people were sentenced to death for murder in southern Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring Can Tho province.
Two men in their 30s were convicted of killing two men, including a policeman, in October 1999 in Ho Chi Minh City following a dispute, the Communist Party daily Nhan Dan said.
Their main accomplice was handed a life term in prison, with 12 others jailed for periods ranging from five years to 12 months.
A 24-year-old man was sentenced to death for killing a 20-year-old woman in October 2002 in Can Tho province, the youth daily, Thanh Nien, said.
