A San Juan man has been sentenced to hang for the 2008 murder of URP labourer Sean Joel Pollard, Newsday reported on 30 January 2019.

A San Juan man has been sentenced to hang for the 2008 murder of URP labourer Sean Joel Pollard, Newsday reported on 30 January 2019.
The death sentence was read to Anthony Maharaj, who was convicted by a Port of Spain jury for the March 18, 2008, murder.
Pollard, 33, also called Kuta, of Jojo Lane, El Socorro, died on arrival at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope.
Maharaj, who was on trial before Justice Hayden St Clair-Douglas, stabbed Pollard after an argument earlier that day.
Pollard was stabbed once in the left side of his abdomen.
