Truong Si Kien, a 23-year-old farmer, was sentenced to death in Vietnam for killing a friend in order to steal his motorbike. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Court found Kien guilty of repeatedly striking his victim, Le Ngoc Son, on the head with a wooden baton on April 1, 2004, in nearby Binh Duong province. The incident took place after the pair had consumed a large amount of rice wine, the official said. Kien was arrested three days later.
