Turkey has appealed to Libya not to execute two Turkish nationals sentenced to death for murder. It said Turkish diplomats had appealed to Libya's ambassador in Ankara and to officials in Tripoli to call off the execution of Selim Aslan and Yunuz Ozkan, convicted of murdering a Libyan national. Turkish Justice Minister Hikmet Sami Turk had also written to his Libyan counterpart.Turkey's foreign and justice ministries declined to comment.It was not clear when Aslan and Ozkan committed the crime or when they were sentenced.Turkish officials said Tripoli was examining the case and they were hopeful the death sentences would not be enforced, Anatolian said.
