Two Nepalese drug traffickers were sentenced to death by a criminal tribunal in the Tibetan capital Lhasa. One of the two had been given a suspended sentence for two years, an indication that he would have his sentence reduced to life imprisonment, China News agency said. A third Nepalese had been sentenced to 15 years in jail for his part in the drug deal. The three men were arrested in June 2003 when Lhasa customs officers seized more than 29 kilograms of heroin from them at the Nepalese border in what was described as their largest heroin haul.
