Gao Haidong was sentenced to death by the Taiyuan City Intermediate People's Court in north China's Shanxi Province for murdering villager Meng during an illegal demolition on October 30, 2010.

Gao Haidong was sentenced to death by the Taiyuan City Intermediate People's Court in north China's Shanxi Province for murdering villager Meng during an illegal demolition on October 30, 2010. Wu Ruijun was given a death sentence with a two-year reprieve for plotting the demolition in Guzhai Village of Jinyuan District in Taiyuan. They were also ordered to pay 68,670 yuan damages.
