four United Arab Emirates nationals were sentenced to death for raping and killing an Ethiopian maid by Justices Yaqoub Al Hamadi, Hussein Al Asoufi and Ahmad Awdh. In August 2009, the four allegedly kidnapped an Ethiopian maid in Khorfakkan, gang raped her, ran their vehicle over her and tried to cover the body with rocks before driving away.
