in the United Arab Emirates, an Abu Dhabi court sentenced five foreigners to death in two separate cases for trafficking heroin, The National newspaper reported. Three Afghans and a Pakistani were charged with trafficking 16 kgs of heroin in Abu Dhabi on June 2, 2010.
In a separate case, a man was sentenced to death by the same court in Abu Dhabi for offering to sell heroin in Sharjah. The state news agency WAM identified the convict as Asian without specifying his nationality.
