the Ugandan Court of Appeal, led by Deputy Chief Justice Alice Mpagi-Bahigeine, ordered a retrial for a father and his three sons as the judge was biased and the trial was defective. Luvinia Balamu, 70, Gasta Mwanawabene, 41, Patrick Mutomuto, 25, and Yoswa Musenero, 36, were sentenced to death by Judge Ezekiel Muhanguzi of the High Court in Mbale on August 22, 2007, for murdering Karim Dongo, of Pallisa District, in Bulalaka village on October 28, 2005, over a land dispute.
