UK Secretary David Blunkett insisted Saddam Hussein must not be executed - because the death penalty would make him a martyr. The world must wait to see what agreement was reached on how and where the captured Iraqi dictator would be tried, Mr Blunkett said. But he added: "I am against the death penalty, wherever it is applied."
