Ukraine’s parliament refused to make changes to the present legislation that would bring back the death penalty, the proposal supported by a tiny 32 of the 413 registered deputies. The Communists had suggested re-introducing the death penalty for grave crimes.
Some legislators also wanted to make rape, robbery, fraud, organization of crime rings, bribes and some other crimes punishable with the life imprisonment.
