an Emirati woman, 47, sentenced to death for drug trafficking attempted suicide in jail, police sources said. The mother of two is the first woman to be given capital punishment in the UAE. She and her 23-year-old Iranian accomplice were arrested when they tried to smuggle 22kg of narcotics from Dibba Al Baia in Oman to Fujairah in August this year.
