U.S. District Judge Gary A. Fenner upheld the Oct. 26, 2007 (see) death sentence of Lisa M. Montgomery. Montgomery, 40, was found guilty on Oct. 22, 2007, of the Dec. 17, 2004 kidnapping of Victoria Jo Stinnett by cutting her from her mother's womb in order to claim her as her own child. Montgomery's actions resulted in the death of Bobbie Jo Stinnett, the baby's mother.
