An Etowah County Jury recommends death penalty for Stephon Lindsay, a man convicted of killing his 20-month-old daughter. During the trial, jurors heard Lindsay say on video that his god, "Yahweh," instructed him to kill his daughter Maliyah. Police said the girl suffered multiple bows to the neck with a hatchet. Gadsden police found the child's body in a wooded area on March 12, 2013. Lindsay had pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. Etowah County Circuit Judge Billy Ogletree has scheduled sentencing for May 16.
