Judge Jacob Walker III sentenced Lisa Graham to death. Convicted of capital murder for persuading a family friend to gun her daughter down on July 5, 2007, Graham, 47, White, today was sentenced to the death penalty. On March 5, 2015 (see) a Russell County jury found Graham guilty of capital murder and recommended 10-2 that Graham's sentence be the death penalty. Graham was accused of persuading Kenneth Walton to kill daughter Stephanie Shea Graham, 20. The girl was killed on July 5, 2007. Walton pleaded guilty June 14, 2012, and was sentenced to life in prison. He had agreed to testify against Graham. After a Russell County jury convicted her, Judge Jacob Walker III initially set a sentencing date of May 1, but then postponed it so Graham could have a psychological evaluation. Walker noted then that Graham had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and was taking medications prescribed for schizophrenia.
