St. Clair County Judge Phillip Seay sentenced Taurus Jermaine Carroll, 35, black, to death in the September 14, 2009 slaying of a fellow inmate, Michael Turner, 24, with a prison-made knife at the St. Clair County Correctional Facility. Judge Seay upheld the Sept. 20 unanimous recommendation of 12 jurors.”
