October 27, 2023 - Jury recommends death penalty for Tapero Johnson
A St. Clair County jury on Friday recommended Tapero Johnson, 31, Black, be sentenced to death for killing a police officer.
Lt. Stephen Williams was fatally shot by Johnson on June 2, 2020 while responding to a disturbance at a Super 8 Motel.
