On Friday, a Mobile County jury voted 11 to 1 in favor of the death penalty, just one day after Marco Perez was found guilty of capital murder in the Jan. 20, 2019 shooting that left police officer Sean Tuder dead. Perez, 24, was 19 when he killed Tuder. The defense said Perez has ADHD, which can impact his judgment, and below-average verbal comprehension. At 24, Perez now becomes the youngest person on Alabama’s death row, by six years.
