USA - Alabama. The House Judiciary Committee voted to bring back the electric chair

The House Judiciary Committee gave a favorable report to a bill (HB 18) that would bring back the electric chair as the primary mode of execution if lethal injection is ever deemed unconstitutional or the essential ingredients aren't available. The committee passed Rep. Lynn Greer's bill on to the full House without discussing its content or implications in a public forum. The bill will go before the House for a second reading on March 10.
