The Alabama state senate concurred in house amendments and gave final legislative approval to SB 187, "The Fair Justice Act," which requires direct and post-conviction appeals to proceed simultaneously and provides capital appellants only six months to investigate and present post-conviction claims. The bill has been forwarded to the governor.
