The resolution HCR 2024 proposes an amendment to the Arizona Constitution regarding the method of capital punishment. If approved by voters, it would require that the death penalty be carried out by firing squad instead of the current method of lethal injection. However, defendants sentenced to death for crimes committed before November 23, 1992, would still have the option to choose between firing squad or lethal gas.
