USA - Arkansas. A jury sentenced Brad Hunter Smith to death

A Cleveland County jury sentenced Brad Hunter Smith, 21, White, to death after finding him guilty of the December 3, 2015 death of 22-year-old Cherrish Faith Allbright. A judge upheld the sentence. Smith, along with co-defendants Jonathan Guenther, 21, and Josh Brown, who turned 18 on Saturday, were all charged with capital murder, kidnapping and abuse of a corpse. Guenther and Brown both entered pleas before Circuit Judge David Talley. Both of their murder charges where reduced from capital murder to first degree murder. The death penalty is only applicable to a capital murder charge. The maximum sentence for first degree murder, is 10 to 40 years to life in prison.
