Judge Joseph Kalashian sentenced Christopher Cheary, 26, White, to death. The man was found guilty in the May 7, 2011 raping, torturing and murdering of 3-year-old Sophia Acosta. A Tulare County jury recommended a death sentence on November 30, 2016. Today Judge Kalashian upheld that choice.
