Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler sentenced Ka Pasasouk to death. Ka, 34, a Laotian immigrant, was convicted in November for killing Teofilo Navales, Robert Calabia, Amanda Ghossein and Jennifer Kim on December 2, 2012 during a robbery gone wrong. A Los Angeles County jury made a death recommendation on Dec. 14 (see). The defense had requested mercy for Pasasouk, who they said has an intelligence level that is "near retardation."
