Orange County Superior Court Judge Richard Toohey sentenced Waymon Livingston, 29, black, to death. He followed a March 20 (see) jury’s recommendation. Livingston was convicted of strangling and raping Ana Gonzalez, 21, in 2007. The woman was 1 of at least 6 victims. Through Dna Livingston was linked to three cases of rape, and one of sexual assault. The jury deadlocked on an additional count of rape involving another victim, and the judge declared a mistrial on that count. Livingston argued the sex was consensual.
