Judge Steve White sentenced Luis Bracamontes to death. He followed the March 27 (see) jury’s recommendation that he be executed for killing Sacramento County sheriff's Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County sheriff's Detective Michael Davis Jr in 2014. Bracamontes' wife, Janelle Monroy, 41, was convicted last week of 10 charges including aiding the murders and sentenced to nearly 50 years.
