USA - Delaware. The Delaware Supreme Court overturned the death sentence of Allison Lamont Norman

The Delaware Supreme Court upheld the convictions of Allison Lamont Norman, 26, black, but overturned his death sentence. In seeking the death penalty in 2007, prosecutors noted that Norman had killed two people, one in Delaware and one in Maryland, in 2005. But the Supreme Court said the judge and jury did not consider evidence regarding Norman's lack of criminal responsibility for the Maryland killing. Maryland prosecutors dropped more than 100 charges against Norman so Delaware could pursue the death penalty. Norman, on the morning of April 7, 2005, for no apparent reason, went on a rampage, firing shots indiscriminately. He shot and killed Jamell Weston, shot and wounded Marcus Cannon, Weston's cousin, shot Anthony White, then drove to Maryland, where the rampage continued. He shot and killed DaVondale Peters, and wounded Carla Green and Marsha Hankerson. Green was left paralyzed. The trail of death ended when Norman went out of bullets and surrendered to police.
